USA’s Christian Coleman believes Usain Bolt’s 100m world record might fall soon

Bolt set the record in August 2009, competing at the World Champions in Berlin.

A year before that, he managed a new WR of 9.69 just 2 months and 16 days after his first time topping the standings.

His time of 9.72 in 2008 was enough to become the world’s fastest, succeeding fellow countryman Asafa Powell whose time of 9.74 stood for 8 months and 22 days.

Coleman has a personal best of 9.76.

While the 28-year-old believes a WR is within his grasp, he is trying not to put too much emphasis on being the one to beat Bolt.

“I feel like it’s in my wheelhouse, but I don’t try to put too much emphasis or thought on it,” he added.

“I try to just focus on the next practice, the next rep, the next meet and just try to improve and get better and better and the times will come.”
