NYPD: 19-year-old man slashed in face in Staten Island shopping plaza; 4 boys arrested

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A 19-year-old man was slashed across the face while outside a businesses in a busy Eltingville shopping center Tuesday night, according to police.

Four males, ranging in age from 14 to 15, were taken into custody, according to a police spokeswoman. No knife was recovered at the scene, she said.

The events unfolded at the Greenridge Plaza, located 3275 Richmond Ave., according to the police spokeswoman.

The victim was transported in stable condition to Staten Island University Hospital in Ocean Breeze, and an investigation remains ongoing, she said.

Several police cars could be seen in the vicinity of the shopping center on Tuesday night and in the parking lot of a pharmacy located across the street.
