Sevierville encourages locals to shop local
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -Small businesses make up the downtown business district and are the backbone of the local community.
They hope locals will venture away from the big box stores and try some of Sevierville’s unique shopping and dining opportunities.
Services like local hair salons offer a personalized service with a local identity.
“Then it would lose its authenticity. I find that we need authentic independent businesses because it creates a very warm, pleasant feeling, especially for tourists to come in and see we have our own identity,” said Dana Baxter, Wonderlust Beauty Bar.
Small businesses are responsible for 17 million jobs in the United States.
