The SLU Men’s Lacrosse Team, meanwhile, will be looking for an at-large bid when the Men’s Division 3 Tournament selection show takes place tonight a 9 p.m.

The 3rd-ranked Saints lost to RPI 7-6 on Friday in the Liberty League semifinals in Canton.

St. Lawrence finished the regular season with a 14-3 record, with all 3 of those losses coming from Top 20 teams.

Coach Mike Mahoney’s team will be watching closely tonight hoping for a ticket in the 20 team field with play kicking off this week.

We’ll let you know if the Saints are in tonight at 11 p.m.

On the diamond, JCC hosted Corning in a Midstate Conference Softball doubleheader.

JCC would drop game one 14-1.

JCC was looking to get the bats going in game two, but Corning starter Olivia Switzer was keeping the Cannoneers in check, striking out 2 through 2 innings of work.

JCC starter Emily Birmingham was dealing early on as well, getting the strikeout here.

Corning was looking to get on the board in the 2nd on Jaylianna Sabatino with a blooper over 3rd. Delaney Wiley guns the runner down at the plate to keep it scoreless.

JCC comes back to win game 2, blanking Corning 4-0.

The S.U. Football Team wrapped up spring practice a few weeks back. It’s the first under new Head Coach Fran Brown.

Brown is implementing a number of changes both on and off the football field for the program, including welcoming back alumni.

That was evident when Brown had 2 former Syracuse players coaching the annual spring football game.

A welcome change according to former Syracuse Quarterback Donovan McNabb.

”Well, that’s what it’s all about. The guys who have kind of started this whole thing out and carried the torch and have passed it on, we need to be involved. I think over the past we’ve had coaches that have come in and tried to almost shut out the alumni. Wanted us to be a part but wanted to control the things that we were doing pretty much to see and to promote our face and names that have been here but not kind of having a hands-on experience with them. He’s given us that opportunity. We’ve all come back and we’ve participated in practice, we’ve talked to the team. Some of us continue communication with a lot of the players. That’s what it’s all about,” said McNabb.
