Back in February, Samsung announced the One UI 6.1 update for flagship devices launched in 2023 and said that the update would come out sometime in March. The company didn’t offer any more specifics on the release date, and the update eventually started rolling out at the very end of the month.

Last week, Samsung finally revealed when One UI 6.1–along with Galaxy AI–would be coming to flagship devices launched before 2023. Once again, it provided a generic timeline, saying that the update will be released in May. However, this time around, the release may take place in the first few days of the month.

According to Canadian carrier Fido, the Galaxy S22 series, the Galaxy Z Fold 4, and the Galaxy Z Flip 4 will receive a new update on May 3. However, the carrier doesn’t mention whether the update will bring One UI 6.1 to these devices or if it will only be a security update.

One UI 6.1 made its debut with the Galaxy S24 in late January, and nearly three months later, it is only available for the Galaxy S23 series, the Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Flip 5, and the Galaxy Tab S9 lineup. And while the predecessors of these devices are scheduled to get the update in May, Samsung has yet to reveal when One UI 6.1 will make its way to other eligible devices.
