World Snooker Championship commentator leaves Crucible audience in hysterics after intruder stops play
Former world champion Ken Doherty managed to get a rise out of the Crucible audience during a tense moment of the World Snooker Championship final at the expense of his co-commentator Dennis Taylor.
Kyren Wilson has held a commanding lead over Jak Jones since the opening session of the final with the Welshman playing catch up.
The qualifier got off to the perfect start on Monday’s afternoon session as he picked up the first frame to move within four of Wilson.
A double-kiss early in the 19th frame for Wilson gave Jones another chance to put a big break together.

After potting the first red of the frame, Jones stopped in his tracks after noticing an intruder on the table.
1985 world champion Taylor noted in commentary: “He’s spotted something – a bug on the table there.
“Paul, you need to take your gloves off to get that.
“Paul Collier, doing his last world championship…”
Doherty then saw the perfect opportunity to take a dig at his co-commentator, adding: “You didn’t open your wallet did you Dennis?”
The Crucible audience, most wearing earpieces for the commentary, then burst into hysterics.
Taylor didn’t respond on air as the commentators stayed quiet while Jones got back down to business on the table by potting the black.
He then added: “I was just saying, Paul Collier, doing his last ever world championship, retires after this.
The bug evaded the referee three times

“Unbelievable referee through the years. Four finals he’s refereed.”
Jones missed a great opportunity with a straight red to the middle pocket bouncing off the jaws.
A safety exchange ensued, scattering the reds all aroud the table to make it more difficult to position the cue ball.

Jones then got himself back in control of the frame with a tricky red into the middle-left pocket.
The 30-year-old came close to throwing the frame away when the cue ball flirted with dropping into the pocket.
But he managed to get the job done to close to within three frames of Wilson to the applause of the Crucible crowd.
