SALT LAKE CITY — In an exclusive interview with ABC News in April, Walmart U.S. CEO John Furner spoke about the company’s efforts to hire and promote employees without college degrees to higher-paying corporate positions.

ABC News reported that some managers at Walmart can earn over $400,000 a year, depending on their performance.

That salary starkly contrasts with a recent report from the National Education Association, which found that the starting salary for teachers in Utah is $49,555.
