Road to the 2024 Women’s College World Series: Time, date, schedule for softball tournament

The ongoing NCAA softball conference tournaments are the crucial first step for teams as they battle it out for a coveted spot in the Women’s College World Series.

The Big 12 softball conference tournament will feature three of the top five teams in the USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 poll. According to the rankings, Texas is currently the No. 1 team, followed by No. 2 Oklahoma State and No. 4 Oklahoma. All three teams will play on Thursday, May 9th.

In the SEC softball conference tournament, top-seeded Tennessee will kick off the quarterfinals with a thrilling game against LSU. The excitement continues with the Florida Gators taking the field on Thursday, May 9th.

When is the NCAA Softball Selection Show: 

The NCAA Softball Selection Show for 2024 will air on ESPN2 and stream on ESPN+ on May 12th at 7 p.m. ET.

NCAA Softball Regionals and Super Regionals 

The NCAA announced that the double-elimination matchups for regional games will take place at 16 sites from May 16 to May 19.

The Super Regionals will feature a two-team, best-of-three series between the 16 teams that advance from their regional matchups. The Super Regionals will take place from May 23-25 or May 24-26.

When is the 2024 Women’s College World Series?

The Women’s College World Series (WCWS) will take place from May 30 to June 6 or 7 at Devon Park, formerly known as the USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City.

The Women’s College World Series (WCWS) follows a double-elimination bracket. The two remaining teams compete in a best-of-three championship series, which starts on June 5th.
