ZANESVILLE, OH- Ohio Means Jobs hosted their third annual job fair opportunity for high school seniors in conjunction with In-Demand Job Week.

The job fair serves as a way for graduating seniors to get their feet wet in the local job market. Over 113 students attended today’s event from all of the area schools.

“We find out after we talk to the high school seniors, you know we have like rally’s and meetings with them, they really don’t know what employers are out there for them, so this is a great opportunity for them to come in, meet 40 employers all at one time, they all ask questions and the employers are very forth giving on positions that they have open, what they expect from a new employee and so it just get them familiar with looking for employment, how to talk to people about a job,” Business Service Representative, Debbie Greiner said.

Students who are going to be seniors next year should begin to prepare a resume filled with their work and accomplishments during their youth.

“If they are in extracurriculars activities, if they work in their neighborhood mowing grass, babysitting, that’s all things that you can put on a resume, it doesn’t have to be where you go somewhere clock in and clock out, some students did have resumes and dressed very nice, and so that would be just something to be thinking about as a junior going into your senior year, what could you put on a resume because we will be doing this again next year,” said Greiner.
