Here’s a roundup of high school varsity action on Friday, April 19.

Girls lacrosse

Gerstell 16, Concordia Prep 4: Freshman Whitney McIlvain scored three goals and had four assists and Addy McIlvain won 14 of 21 draws to lead the visiting Falcons (8-3, 5-0 Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland B Conference) over the Saints (4-4, 1-4).  Preslee Borek and Sara Fenwick each scored four goals for the Falcons.

Long Reach 15, Hammond 1: Chiara Pompei had four goals and two assists and Alaina North had two goals and two assists to lead the visiting Lightning over the Bears.

Annapolis 19, Northeast 4: Brooklynn Ricker had six goals and an assist to lead the visiting Panthers over the Eagles. Other top scorers for Annapolis included: Sarah Ericson (4 goals), Amelia Skinner (3 goals,1 assist) and Catherine King (3 goals). Sadie Steffens made eight saves for the Panthers.

Arundel 11, North County 7: The host Wildcats beat the Knights (0-6). Arundel has won three of its past five games.

South River 14, Southern 4: South River gets the win on senior night. Reese Toth and Alex Alto each had a hat trick to lead the host Seahawks. Cheyenne Jackson made 12 saves for South River. Emmie Mudd had two goals for Southern.

Boys lacrosse

Saints Peter & Paul 19, Indian Creek 7: Phillip Derrick made eights saves, but the visiting Eagles (2-8, 0-5 Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association B Conference) fell to the Sabres (7-3, 2-0). Goal scorers for Indian Creek included: Caton Crowder (4 goals), Tyler Stroble (1 goal, 4 assists), Jason Marks (1 goal) and Aiden Evans (1 goal).

Softball

Towson 15, Perry Hall 3: The visiting Generals scored seven runs in the seventh inning and beat the Gators. Jelena Gardner went seven innings, gave up three runs on seven hits, walked one and struck out nine for the win. Molly Mohrn (3-for-5) scored three runs, had two RBIs and a double for Towson.

Western Tech 15, Dundalk 5: After each team scored three in the first inning, the Wolverines’ defense settled in while the offense erupted for 10 runs in the second inning. Abby Webb went 4-for-5 with a double, triple and three RBIs. Julihana Thomas and Bailey Allen drove in two runs in the win.

Mt. Hebron 22, Atholton 4: Winning pitcher Abby Magdar gave up four runs on four hits and struck out 10 and the visiting Vikings beat the Raiders. Mt. Hebron scored seven runs on one hit in the second inning. Kaelyn Cisna had the hit, a two-run single. The other five runs came on three walks, a groundout and an error.

Francis Scott Key 14, Winters Mill 3: Winning pitcher Maddi Rill worked five innings, gave up three runs on six hits, walked one and struck out eight and the host Eagles beat the Falcons. Piper Beahm and Emma Taff each hit a double for the Eagles.

South Carroll 8, Westminster 5: Alayna Enoff had two hits and three RBIs to lead the Cavaliers past the Owls. Maddie Wright, Sophia Pugliese and Myla Bell also drove in runs in the win. Kinleigh Smith and Nichole Brosenne split time in the circle, combining on a five-hitter.

Elkton 8, Havre de Grace 7: Winning pitcher LeeAnn Pugh threw seven innings, gave up seven runs on 11 hits, walked one and struck out 12 and the visiting Golden Elks beat the Warriors. Pugh went 3-for-3 with two home runs, two RBIs and four runs scored. Sarah Weitzel hit a triple for Havre de Grace.

Baseball

Harford Tech 12, Edgewood 1: Will Kerrigan, Ryan Hardisky and Brendan Coldiron threw a combined no-hitter and the visiting Cobras (8-2) beat the Rams. Starter Kerrigan pitched the two innings, walked one and struck out four. Hardisky threw two innings and struck out six. Coldiron worked one inning, gave up one run, walked one, hit one batter and struck out three.

C. Milton Wright 7, North Harford 3: All the Mustangs’ runs came in the fourth inning and three pitchers combined to hold down the Hawks. Ryan Herman had three hits and an RBI to lead CMW. Keith Cochran drove in two runs. Tyler Adamo, Kevin Emerson and Kyle Frank also drove in runs.

Manchester Valley 9, Liberty 0: Winning pitcher Gene Magin threw a complete game one-hitter and struck out 10 and the host Mavericks beat the Lions. Liam Ziegenfuss (3-for-5) had two doubles, two runs scored and two RBIs. Manchester Valley scored two runs in the second inning, three runs in the fifth inning, and two runs in both the sixth inning and seventh inning.

Chesapeake-AA 16, Meade 1: Winning pitcher Sean Carroll worked five innings, gave up two hits, walked one and struck out five and the visiting Cougars beat the Mustangs. Cole Parsons and CJ August each had two hits, a double and two RBIs for Chesapeake.

Reservoir 5, Long Reach 1: Winning pitcher Cameron Whitehead went six innings, gave up one run on four hits and struck out eight and the visiting Gators beat the Lightning. Whitehead had a double and two runs.  Matt Russell went 2-for-2 with a walk and a run and Gavin Metrick (3-for-4) had two RBIs and pitched the seventh inning.
