EASTON, Pa. – To help teachers stay creative, they need tools. In honor of Teacher Appreciation Day, three lucky teachers got to go on quite the shopping spree, thanks to Crayola.

“We had over 2,000 teachers apply for this shopping spree raffle, three winners were chosen from the area,” said Abby Dentner, Marketing Manager at Crayola Experience.

By chance, all three are from the Allentown area.

“Each teacher is getting a 64-second shopping spree in the Crayola store,” Dentner said.

The 64 seconds are in honor of the 64 crayons that come in a big Crayola box.

And the teachers knew what they were going for.

“I ran straight to the activity kits, those are great projects for my kids, especially on rainy days when we’re stuck inside for indoor recess,” said Shannon Stokes, a teacher at Salisbury Elementary School.

And, of course, the staples.

“I got a big pack of crayons, colored pencils, twistables, sidewalk chalk,” said Paula Lapp, a teacher at Ramos Elementary School.

Those 64 seconds will make a big impact in their classrooms.

“My heart is still pounding from the shopping spree. It was so exciting, it was a lifetime opportunity to stock my classroom so, I’m thrilled,” Stokes said.

“It’s nice knowing that we have that, otherwise taking money out of our own pockets to supply for the kids,” Lapp said.

They say the gesture by Crayola makes them feel appreciated.

Their schools are also getting prize packs filled with supplies.

Crayola says they appreciate teachers and all they do every day and teachers can get a free membership to the Crayola Experience.
