Williamson Co. sheriff says ‘drug house closed for business’

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (KFVS) – A man was arrested and the sheriff says a “drug house is closed for business.”

Roquecce “Rocky” Benjamin, was cited for delivery of a controlled substance (cocaine), possession of a controlled substance (cocaine), delivery of cannabis, possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of adult-use cannabis in a motor vehicle.

According to a release from the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, they served a search warrant on a home in the 100 block of South Johnson Street in Colp, Illinois around 6:45 p.m. on May 3.

Investigators recovered cocaine, cannabis, drug packaging waste, drug paraphernalia, digital scales and $16,241 in cash.

Benjamin was arrested during that search and taken to the Williamson County Jail.

Deputies say the search warrant and arrest were part of an ongoing investigation that began in 2023. It included several search warrants, controlled purchases of drugs, surveillance, countless interviews and numerous arrests.

While investigating the sale of drugs in Williamson County, deputies say they have shut down drug houses believed to be operated by members of the Chicago Street Gang, “Gangster Disciples.”

Investigators recovered methamphetamine, cocaine, crack cocaine, guns in possession of felon drug dealers and cash during previous investigations.
