TYLER, Texas (KLTV) – The UT Tyler Lady patriots softball team have advance to the Division Two World Series after their win against Oklahoma Christian College.

It wasn’t a game where the Lady Patriots could rely on multiple runs, but it was a hard hitting affair. Catcher Michelle Arias stood her ground for an important out and the fans were treated to an impressive defense from UT-Tyler.

“It’s during practice, during batting practice, we’re always going out there diving for every ball. Sometimes we like to say unnecessary diving, and that situation just showed how we practice translates to a game,” said JT Smith.

Even though the Lady Patriots were leading it was never a comfortable ordeal. Coach Mike Reed says it was a complete game with minimum offense, pitching, and top quality defense in their 3-0 win.

“Seems like after every game during the year we’ve had some 12 run games that we’ve scored in regionals. I think each one has a life of its own, like we said earlier. I certainly feel like this one was leaning heavy, heavy on the pitching,” said coach Reed.
