Upcoming Free Public Events: B.A.A. Neighborhood Fitness Series presented by Boston Children’s Hospital in East Boston & Mattapan

BOSTON —  The Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) invites media, community members and athletes of all ages and abilities to the upcoming B.A.A. Neighborhood Fitness Series presented by Boston Children’s Hospital in East Boston and Mattapan. Held throughout Boston, the B.A.A. Neighborhood Fitness Series features free walk/runs of varying distances, family-friendly activities, and a celebration of getting active.

EAST BOSTON – SUNDAY, MAY 19

This Sunday, May 19, the B.A.A. Neighborhood Fitness Series visits East Boston Memorial Park, where free run/walk events will be offered beginning at 12:00 p.m. Athletes of all ages and abilities are welcome to join the fun 1-mile or 2-mile courses showcasing the Park and area bike paths, with everyone receiving a unicorn medal at the finish line. Fun fitness activity stations will also be available for children, and attendees are welcome to take photos with the Boston Marathon Champion’s Trophy.

MATTAPAN – SATURDAY, JUNE 1

Looking ahead, the next B.A.A. Neighborhood Fitness Series event will be held on Saturday, June 1 at Hunt Almont Park in Mattapan.

Like the upcoming event in East Boston, run/walks at a variety of distances around the park will be offered, as will family-friendly activities, photo ops, giveaways, and all participants will receive a unicorn finisher medal. No matter where attendees are on their fitness journey, whether a runner, walker, or just getting into the sport, they’ll be welcomed and celebrated at the B.A.A. Neighborhood Fitness Series.
