Top Somerset County baseball and softball performers for May 6-11

Somerset 18, Richland 5: The Golden Eagles tallied 10 runs in the top of the seventh to upend the Rams.

Callen Miller recorded five hits, including a home run and five RBIs for Somerset. Lane Lambert added two hits, including a home run and five RBIs. Carter Dunmyer added three hits. Braeden Flower struck out 10 over six innings.

Conemaugh Township 7, Cambria Heights 5: Larry Weaver delivered two hits, including a home run and two RBIs to lift Conemaugh Township to a victory.

D.J. Bambino drove in two runs while Luke Weber and Brennan Lohr each contributed two hits for Conemaugh Township.

Windber 12, Ferndale 2 (6): Lucas Oleksa hit a 3-run home run and racked up four RBIs to propel the Ramblers past the Yellow Jackets.

Lucas Rummel recorded two hits, an RBI and scored two runs while Nathan Betcher added a hit and two RBIs for Windber. Logan Serenko struck out five.

Hancock 10, Turkeyfoot Valley 2: Bryce Nicholson provided two hits and Gavin Culp tallied an RBI single for the Rams in a setback.

District 5-2A doubles championship

Somerset’s Cornelius Grau and Josiah Antram defeated Tussey Mountain’s Luke Barnett and Nolan May 6-1, 6-2 to earn District 5 Class 2A doubles gold.
