WNBA (1 Unit) Connecticut Sun Team Total Over 84.5 (-110; Odds via Caesars): 6:00 PM CT on ESPN

If you want to know why Caitlin Clark has had a rough introduction to the WNBA, look no further than the team she landed on. The Fever had the top pick for a reason, and they’re still a pretty awful team that can’t defend. Their league-worst scoring defense from last season has not improved, allowing 95.0 PPG so far this season. That includes the opening game of the season when Connecticut dropped 92 on them, and I don’t see the Sun letting up here. Connecticut is again one of the best shooting teams in the league, so look for them to hang a big number on national TV tonight.

MLB (0.5 Unit) Detroit Tigers Team Total Over 4.5 (+105; Odds via Caesars): 6:40 PM CT on FS1

Detroit has made massive strides in their hitting and run production this season, making a situation like this attractive with plus-juice attached to it. The Tigers aren’t tearing the cover off the ball by any means, but they’ve gone from one of the worst hitting teams to a middle-of-the-road club, especially against righties like they’ll see tonight.

And they’ve been good against below-average pitching, which is what you get with Michael Wacha starting for the Royals. Wacha already gave up 4 runs at Detroit this season, but has much worse numbers at home and has allowed a cumulative .319 average and .897 OPS to their lineup. Additionally, Wacha has a bullpen behind him that’s allowing one of the highest batting averages and expected-ERA’s in baseball. At this kind of juicy number, I’ll count on the Tigers to keep the bats going tonight.
