BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) – The Wow Factory, a local art studio in Morgantown, is celebrating 16 years of business in May.

To celebrate, there will be giveaways and special prizes all month long, and complimentary snacks for customers at each visit.

“The Wow Factory is here for the community. That’s the whole purpose when Joann and Dina opened in 2009,” said McGraw, the studio manager. “Their whole thought was like Morgantown really needs a place like this for people to get to have a creative outlet.”

The Wow Factory offers pottery painting, glass fusing, mosaics, clay hand building, birthday parties, summer camps, canvas painting, and more.

McGraw, who’s worked at The Wow Factory for 11 years, says The Wow Factory is a special business that meets the community’s needs like no other.

“People come in and you have a creative experience together, but you can still talk and laugh and make memories together. It’s a really special place,” said McGraw.

The Wow Factory opened in May 2009 and has seen lots of expansions since then, such as more workshops for the community, more summer camp activities and building expansion.

However, the pandemic impacted the business, as they had to close down for a period of time.

“It was definitely an improvising moment adjusting to COVID-19, but post-COVID, the community’s really rallied around us,” said McGraw. “I feel like we’re even busier now than we were pre-COVID.”

McGraw says she’s not 100% sure about The Wow Factory’s future, but they will continue giving the community the creative experiences they’re looking for.

The Wow Factory hours are Tuesday-Saturday 10 a.m.-8 p.m. and Sunday noon-6 p.m.
