Salt Craft Going Out Of Business
PLEASANTON, CA —Salt Craft Bakery and Catering, a Pleasanton business specializing in gourmet bread and catering, announced that it is going out of business at an unspecified date.
“Unfortunately, I have tried to avoid this day for over a year(s) at this point, but we have had too many exterior challenges over the years that ultimately immobilized the business and left me unable to take care of myself and the people around me,” Chef Matt Greco wrote in a Facebook post.
Greco, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America who spent ten years working in high-end New York City restaurants and then became the executive chef at Wente Vineyards, started off as a farm-to-table restaurant. After the pandemic, it shifted to a bread bakery and catering kitchen that shipped fresh bread to many locations around the Bay Area.
Greco thanked his customers, employees, community members, and the City of Pleasanton.
The post gathered many sympathetic responses, with one commenter saying that Salt Craft will be “missed beyond what words can express.”
“Thank you and your crew for your dedication and delicious menu, especially your English muffins. I remember all the work that you put into making your location so beautiful. We people of Pleasanton thank you.”
