Orlando Area Basketball Coach Accused Of Using Funds On OnlyFans Subscriptions

A Florida basketball coach who runs a sports academy in Orlando has been accused of misappropriating funds paid as “tuition” by his players.  Instead of going towards his players’ expenses, the money allegedly went into his pocket and was used for personal vacations, gambling, and OnlyFans subscriptions.

Give the coach credit where it’s due.  He’s mixing some old school misappropriation of funds – allegedly – with gambling and the new school with the OnlyFans subscriptions.

Roderick Wilmont, who played college basketball at Indiana from 2003-07, was arrested and now faces multiple charges, FOX 35 Orlando reports.  Among the charges he faces is a scheme to defraud charge, which is a felony.

According to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, Wilmont rented vacation homes for his basketball program, and instead of using the tuition money paid to him to cover the expenses, he never paid for his players to stay and racked up more than $19,000 in rental costs.

The investigation found that similar incidents had taken place at Westgate Resorts, where he is accused of failing to pay an outstanding balance of more than $7,000 to them.

The Basketball Coach Didn’t Have Much To Say When Contacted About These Allegations

Investigators allege that he deposited substantial amounts of money into his personal bank account.  The financial records indicate that the thousands deposited in his personal account were used for vacations, gambling, and OnlyFans content instead of on the players.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office launched the investigation into Wilmont after they received a tip back in December.  When contacted by FOX 35 for comment, he said that he was wrongfully detained.

Wilmont also agreed to do a follow-up interview but when attempting to set it up he went silent.  None of the other coaches on the staff, parents, or players wanted to comment on the story, but said that they didn’t know about the coach’s arrest or charges.

If this isn’t a sign of the times, I don’t know what is.  We’ve got the sports academy with parents shelling out thousands on the one hand, and on the other, we’ve got some of that money allegedly being spent on OnlyFans content.
