ASHEVILLE, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – A new Chick-Fil-A is set to open this Thursday, May 9 at 970 Brevard Road. This new Chick-Fil-A is only one of fifty Chick-Fil-A restaurants already active throughout the Asheville area.

The restaurant will provide approximately 85 full- and part-time jobs to the Asheville community. To celebrate the restaurant’s opening, Chick-Fil-A, Inc. donated $25,000 to Feeding America.

Chick-Fil-A selected Grayson Tanner as the Owner-Operator for Chick-Fil-A Brevard. Tanner has worked for Chick-Fil-A since 2008, starting as a Team Member for a Chick-Fil-A in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He then worked his way up leadership roles at several Chick-Fil-A restaurants in Greensboro, North Carolina, and Salt Lake City, Utah.

In 2015, Chick-Fil-A accepted Tanner into their Leadership Development Program. Two years later, Chick-Fil-A selected him as Owner-Operator of Chick-Fil-A Delta Shores in Sacramento, California. He runs the restaurant with his wife, Brittani, whom he met while working as opening trainers back in 2012.

“Every step of my time with Chick-Fil-A has been incredibly rewarding,” Tanner said. “What excites me is the chance to share that same rewarding experience with others and be a positive force in the local community right here in Asheville.”

Tanner plans to participate in the Chick-Fil-A Shared Table program, which donates surplus food to local food banks, soup kitchens, shelters and nonprofits. Combined, the U.S. and Canada have over 2,000 Chick-Fil-A restaurants. These restaurants have provided over 25 million meals across both countries.

“My vision extends beyond just serving delicious food,” Tanner said. “It’s about creating meaningful connections with my Team Members, neighbors, and our Guests.”

The company also recognized 100 local heroes and awarded them free Chick-Fil-A entrées for a year to honor their service for the Asheville area.
