The Ontario Provincial Police say officers and the province’s Ministry of Transportation had to corral a Llama that was on the loose on Highway 400.
Police posted on X, formerly Twitter, on Sunday photos of the Llama with officers from the OPP’s Aurora detachment.
Video posted online also shows the Llama walking up towards the edge of the highway just behind concrete barriers. OPP officers are seen pulled over the right side of the highway to block the Llama from stepping onto the highway.
A second video shows OPP officers with a yellow rayon cord attempting to lasso the Llama. The officers are successful in securing the animal.
OPP initially said the animal was an alpaca but have since corrected to say it was in fact a Llama.
“See [Llamas] go slow doesn’t have the same ring as #SeeSnowGoSlow but honestly, if you see one on the highway… slow down,” police said.
