KENT, Ohio – The Kent State lacrosse team travels to the West Coast to take on San Diego State on Friday, March 3 at 10 p.m. ET and UC Davis on Sunday, March 5 at 3 p.m. ET.
Both games will be played at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego.
About the Flashes
The Golden Flashes (2-1) are off to the best start in program history and return to action for the first time since a 16-11 victory at Butler on Feb. 18. Just two days prior, Kent State posted the program’s first overtime win, 16-15, at Duquesne. Junior Jackie Wolford and senior Madison Flannigan led the Flashes in those contests, and the Flashes swept the Mid-American Conference’s player of the week honors.
Senior Kenzie Sklar is tied for the conference leads in goals per game (4.00) and is second in points per game (5.00). Wolford is right behind with 3.67 goals and 4.33 points per points per game to rank third in the conference. Senior Morgan Kubicki leads the MAC in assists per game (2.33) and ranks fifth in draw controls per game (5.00).
About the Aztecs
San Diego State (1-5) beat California, 11-9, on Feb. 19 for its only win of the season but has suffered losses to No. 19 USC (16-7) and No. 6 Stony Brook (19-3) in the past two contests. Deanna Balsama leads the team with 17 goals and Sam Horan is the national leader with 72 saves.
About the Aggies
UC Davis (1-1) has split its first two games of the season, a 16-12 setback against No. 13 Virginia and a 13-12 victory over Lindenwood. The Aggies led the Cavaliers after three quarters but were outscored 6-1 in the fourth. Mia Lawrence has a team-high five goals and Alex Agnew is the leader with four assists.
