Juvenile, former business employee arrested after allegedly in drive-thru with gun in lap, says police

BARTONVILLE (25News Now) – A juvenile who police say was a passenger in a vehicle allegedly with a gun in her lap was arrested.

Bartonville Police say officers were called to a business in the 1200 block of West Garfield.

Police say the girl is known to be a former employee and made a previous threat to the business.

An officer found the vehicle in the parking lot of the Limestone High School tennis courts. The information was given to the school resource office and the high school implemented a “hold.”

Police say the car pulled onto Airport Road and a high-risk traffic stop was conducted, with the car stopping in the school’s faculty parking lot.

All three people in the vehicle were detained and interviewed with the girl being arrested, police said.

“We understand that situations like this can be unsettling to students, parents, and staff,” police said. “However, we want to assure everybody this was an isolated incident and have no reason to believe there is any lingering threat to Limestone High School. Due to all three occupants being juveniles no further information will be released.”
