The home side were four points off the top six only a fortnight ago, but having since gone on a four match winless run, Liam Rosenior’s side have since slid down to 16th in the table are now 14 points shy of the play-offs.
Having picked up just two points from their last four games, all six pointers against teams around them in the table, the Tigers are now closer in terms of points to the relegation zone than they are to the play-offs, as they sit 11 points above Huddersfield.
West Brom’s promotion surge has also stalled of late, having won nine league games out of 10 following Carlos Corberan’s appointment as manager, the Baggies have gone off the boil somewhat.
The West Midlands side broke into the top six in late January, but since the winning run came to an end, Corberan’s side have won just two of their last seven games, losing four.
They did however manage to get a win over the ever impressive Middlesbrough side who can’t seem to stop winning under Michael Carrick, which leaves the Baggies now just six points off Luton in sixth, while also having a game in hand.
West Brom can also take confidence in the fact that they’ve won their last six meetings against Hull, and Corberan has won both of his previous games against the club.
Rosenior also has a 100% record against West Brom though, knocking them out of the Carabao Cup at the start of the season while in charge of Derby, so something has to give.
