DOJ Set To Sue Live Nation Entertainment Over Alleged Antitrust Violations

The US Department of Justice plans to file an antitrust lawsuit against Live Nation Entertainment as early as Thursday. The DOJ is challenging the company’s business practices. Live Nation Entertainment owns Ticketmaster and is a giant in the live entertainment industry, promoting concerts and owning venues. The lawsuit is expected to allege that Live Nation has squeezed out competitors and weakened customer choice, helping to push up prices. The DOJ investigation into Live Nation and Ticketmaster’s practices has spanned years. In 2022, Ticketmaster faced backlash over its website crashing during Taylor Swift tour presales.
