The Detroit Lions are bringing back one of their former players, with the team reportedly re-signing veteran defensive back, C.J. Moore, in free agency.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Moore is back in Detroit on a one-year deal, the financial terms of which were not disclosed. Moore had to miss all of the 2023 campaign after he was suspended for a gambling violation but was recently reinstated.

The Lions desperately needed to add more depth options at safety behind Ifeatu Melifonwu, Kerby Joseph, and potentially Brian Branch. Moore is not only going to help that need, he also offers Detroit an excellent special teams contributor.

The former undrafted free agent appeared in 56 games (one start) for the Lions from 2019-22, tallying 48 tackles and a pair of passes defensed. He saw 1,078 snaps on special teams and 344 on defense in that span.

Here are some of the best reactions to the move to bring Moore back to Motown.
