College of Business Administration hosts All-In Milwaukee orientation | Marquette Today

Dr. E. J. and Margaret O’Brien Hall, the home of the College of Business Administration, hosted a new scholar orientation and reception for All-In Milwaukee, a local higher education nonprofit. One-hundred fifty Milwaukee-area high school graduates attending one of the eight All-In Milwaukee university partners met their All-In scholar advisors and admissions counselors to talk about paths to success in higher education.

“We are proud to welcome an organization that does so much for local students,” says Tim Hanley, acting James H. Keyes Dean of the College of Business Administration. “For more than a century, Marquette has allowed young people to attain better opportunities for themselves and their families. All-In Milwaukee has been a terrific partner to us in furthering that mission.”

All-In Milwaukee is a college completion program that provides financial aid, advising and career support to diverse Milwaukee students from low-income families. Eighty-seven percent of all students in the program are first-generation.

Marquette University is one of eight local schools that partner with All-In Milwaukee. Approximately 40 percent of students in the program attend Marquette.

A donation from the Jackson family allows Marquette University to support All-In Milwaukee students through the All-In Marquette College Completion Scholarship. Students who were admitted to the College of Nursing and have applied to the All-In Milwaukee scholarship are eligible for the award.

Marquette’s efforts to fund more scholarships for All-In Milwaukee students received a boost recently when United Healthcare and the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce donated $600,000 to support scholars across the eight collegiate partners.
