Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s budding relationship just continues to reach new heights.
The young lovers have captured much of the world’s interest, globetrotters placing pin prints on various parts of the world while sending the masses into raptures on their respective playing fields.
And it’s got people talking. Kelce recently joined Swift in Argentina during the bye week, greeting his new sweetheart with their first public smooch. Swift returned the favor four times prior, watching along as Kelce ran opposition secondaries ragged.
A true modern-day love story! How exciting! It’s still early days in Kelce and Swift’s relationship. But the initial few weeks of romance have been full of verve, Kelce revealed in an interview with the Wall Street Journal’s J.R. Moehringer.

In the discussion, Kelce gave fans a glimpse into his life with Swift, detailing some of the finer points that their collective legions of supporters weren’t necessarily privy to.
The 33-year old Kelce said that his first attempt at wooing the global pop star shone through with a little help from his little friends: Swift hung out with her young cousins when she took the stage at Arrowhead. And just where did the siblings hang out prior to Swift’s show? None other than right in front of Kelce’s towering locker room.
“She’ll probably hate me for saying this, but…when she came to Arrowhead, they gave her the big locker room as a dressing room,” Kelce said.” And her little cousins were taking pictures…in front of my locker.”
Kelce poured more gas on the bonfire, indicating that he’s grown increasingly impressed with Swift’s intellect — both with the mic in her hands and while tracking her new beau’s stats. It’s a quality Kelce said he wasn’t quite expecting to shine so brightly when he first courted her. But he’s a great appreciator of it nonetheless.
“I’ve never been a man of words,” Kelce said. “Being around her, seeing how smart Taylor is, has been f—ing mind-blowing. I’m learning every day.”

Swift is all the rage among Kelce’s inner crew. I mean, can you blame them? The 12-time Grammy winner isn’t just one of the most impressive musicians of her time. She also shares a great many traits with the future Hall-of-Famer. Including in music taste; it seems Kelce and Swift took their relationship to the next level amid smoky bonfire, wine and Wheatus’ “Teenage Dirtbag.”
Kelce squints into the distance: He’s not sure they were singing…Wheatus. But he allows that his memory might be compromised.
“There was some wine involved, for sure.”
That’s not to say it was all easy. Swift is a supernova in a way Kelce couldn’t fathom. And although he has confidence in his ability to seal the deal and secure a date with the Philadelphia-based artist, not everyone in his corner was so sure:
“Everybody around me telling me: ‘Don’t f— this up,'” Kelce said. “And me sitting here saying: ‘Yeah, got it.’”
When it comes to Swift supporters, Kelce is one of the biggest. But he may not be the biggest Swift stan in his family. It seems Taylor has developed quite the partnership with matriarch Donna Kelce, who she was seen chumming shoulders with in the press box all those weeks ago.

Initially, Donna was concerned she characterized Swift in an underwhelming way. But as the two have gotten to know each other, she’s been able to get a window into the kindred spirit that Swift appears to possess.
I can tell you this,” Donna Kelce said, per WSJ. “He’s happier than I’ve seen him in a long time…. God bless him, he shot for the stars!”
There’s still kinks to work out. Kelce is a jokester, cut from the cloth of Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell and, most famously, Chris Farley. Swift will need to accept that part of him as well to cement their status as pop culture’s ‘It’ couple.
Still, it’s been a good start. And for that, Kelce is grateful.
Indeed, Kelce has warned Swift that she’s going to have to reckon with this part of his personality. Adam Sandler, Chris Farley, Will Ferrell—they will all be a part of the relationship. “I told Taylor that I have that world, I’ve got to introduce it to her. I let her know: This is my jam right here.” (Kelce does an uncanny imitation of Farley’s dorky baritone, and the ringtone on his phone is Farley primal screaming: For the love of GOD!)
