Offenberger
Cheryl Ann Lampton Offenberger, of Flower Mound, Texas, passed away at her residence surrounded by family & friends on September 14, 2023. She was born on May 31, 1959, in Naples, Italy. With her father being a captain in the Navy they moved frequently living in Japan, Washington State, California, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, and Texas.
Cheri is the daughter of George Lampton of McAlester, Oklahoma, and Suzy Loveless Lampton, deceased mother formerly of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Surviving is her loving husband of 43 years, Randy Offenberger, of Flower Mound, daughter, Ashley Offenberger Boettcher (David) of Frisco Texas, son Craig Offenberger of Denton, Texas, stepdaughter Stephanie Hooper Soderlund (Daniel) of Marietta. Also, her siblings, Greg “Buck” Lampton and Jennifer Lampton Dierker both from Oklahoma City, OK. Three grandchildren living in Texas, Cason, Avery, and Rylan and Soren of Marietta. Also surviving are several nephews & nieces.
Cheri graduated from Kempsville High School in Virginia Beach, VA, and attended the University of Central Oklahoma, Edmond, OK. She moved to Oklahoma when her dad retired. She was awarded the honor of Miss Oklahoma 1980, and pursued a career in modeling and as a makeup artist. She loved spending time with family & friends, painting, and playing with her numerous dogs she owned. She enriched her life by walking with Jesus every day and participating in bible studies.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ryan Offenberger, father-in-law, Herman Offenberger of Marietta Ohio, and her mom, Suzy Loveless Lampton of Oklahoma City.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, November 24 at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption 506 Fourth St., Marietta. The family wishes to thank the many family members, friends, and Hospice for their service, support, encouragement & prayers.
