Campbell’s to add 100 new jobs to Robeson County facility

MAXTON, N.C. (WMBF) –  A household name is investing in Robeson County.

The Campbell’s Soup Company announced on Tuesday it will be investing $150 million in its soup production at its Maxton facility.

The expansion will help create 100 new jobs at the facility located along Highway 71.

It’s all part of Campbell’s ongoing effort to invest in and transform its supply chain to help fuel growth and enhance its manufacturing and distribution network.

“To fuel growth and transform our manufacturing and distribution network, we must invest and further strengthen our supply chain,” said Dan Poland, Campbell’s chief supply chain officer. “By leveraging our best-in-class in-house capabilities combined with the expertise of trusted manufacturing partners, we will continue to make the highest quality products, with a more agile, flexible, and cost-effective manufacturing network. We continue to evaluate optimization opportunities across the network to build our supply chain of the future.”

Campbell’s is investing $230 million through fiscal year 2026 at newer, more agile facilities in its network. The Maxton facility will receive the biggest part of that $230 million investment.

The company will invest $72 million at its Hanover plant in Pennsylvania so it can add more potato chip kettles. The facility in Franklin, Wisconsin will receive an $8 million to expand its capacity for tortilla chips.
